Second Wind Dreams® was formed in 1997, growing out of the work of geriatric specialist P.K. Beville, M.S. who co-authored Second Wind, a novel about people living in a nursing home. Over the last twelve years, SWD has become involved in more than 290 eldercare communities in 40 states, Canada and India. The mission of Second Wind Dreams® (SWD) is simple: through the fulfillment of dreams and the offering of innovative educational opportunities to caregivers and communities, SWD seeks to change the perception and experience of aging, empowering elders to age with dignity, hope and joy.

This video is produced by Second Wind Dreams which allows a person to a “window into their world.” Because we often do not understand what the dementia person is experiencing, we allow the person wanting to be educated to participate in what the dementia person experiences through assimilation of what is shown in the video.

Through the help of this video, we hope that we can help educate the public on the awareness of what a dementia person experiences. We cannot take the credit for this study but we can pass on the information that they have gathered through their study to help you to understand the dementia part of the disease.
